The Hub Trust aim is focused on empowering change in 360 degrees turn so that our rangatahi and Tane break that cycle of abuse, addiction and those old lifestyle habits and beliefs. Our programme aims to build confidence and readiness for the workforce, and in our participants. Through developing and observing the behaviour and character of each individual of their performance and training. we will be able to support them in their transition into society and work, whether it be as employed or self-employed. The key is the relationship of trust and support built with each individual. All the above is hoped to be achieved coat our facility which combines indigenous and Godly values integrated together through Housing and Rehabilitation.

Overall, The Hub Trust is designed to provide a programme that combines positive Māori traditional values and tikanga with education. This programme is tailored specifically for Māori and others who struggle adapting in this modern age of change. We focus on empowering change in a 360 degree turn in their lives to engage positively with their whanau and society and to gain employment, be it employed or self-employed.

Firstly, we help these tane to ko wai au, know who they are, and secondly, knowing their pepeha, their whakapapa, where they come from. This helps them put their feet firmly on the ground and connects them back to their people/marae, awa, maunga – Te Ao Māori. This also ties them back to their tipuna. We at The Hub Trust want to help these men be better fathers, husbands, partners and have a close relationship with people of their hapu, marae, and iwi.

This programme will give the men tools to be able to achieve goals of whanaungatanga and gain tohu (qualifications) which in return will help them in their own lives.

The vision is to walk with these men and youth as they go on this hikoi (journey) of change and growth and maturity and for these tane and rangatahi to take up this whero – challenge. However, at the end of the day, it comes down to each individual to make his own choice and whether he wants to be part of this journey.

The Hub Trust foundations is solely about working with tane and rangatahi wanting to break the cycle of abuse, violence, and addiction. The key is the relationship of trust and support built with each individual. All the above is hoped to be achieved at the Hub Trust Housing facility which combines indigenous and Godly values integrated together through Housing and Rehabilitation.
